Mahtaj

One-of-a-kind lighting object

Mahtaj means "Moon Crown" in Persian. Inspired by the radiant geometry of the Shamseh, the hand-forged iron crown and its handcrafted iron holder for the glass evoke a celestial form, while an old Saj—the iron griddle traditionally used by nomadic communities for baking bread—forms its backdrop. Reunited with hand-blown glass, these humble fragments of heritage are transformed into a quiet interplay of moon, fire, and light.
